Rod & Ball Mill installation, commissioning and maintenance

After installation and commissioning completion in 2013, CMI was engaged by NPMC after one year in operation to support their mill management program. Our support involves a team of 4 - 8 mechanical tradesmen to undertake Mill health checks on Gear and Pinion teeth condition via MPI NDT methods, critical fastener elongation with ultrasonic meters, as well as laser alignment of mill drivelines, trunnion bearing clearance checks, trunnion seal adjustments and replacements.

Our alignment services have been utilized elsewhere on process pumps after the client suffered multiple bearing failures on differing process water pumps. Since the alignments were performed vibration levels dropped significantly. After each shutdown a detailed report is submitted to the client advising on work performed and recommendations for future plant shutdowns.
